Vlog - editing
We have been editing our two minute film opening on the iMacs. After putting together all the footage we wanted to use, we realised we went over by two minutes and we had to cut out a lot. We made a vlog to explain all the things we cut out and stuff we added in. All that we have left is to create the opening titles, add a thud and find a creepy/suspense music. Then we're finished.
vlog - after filming
Today was the last day my group and I filmed our two minute film opening. We hope we got all the camera shots right so that we don't have to film again. We made a vlog after finishing filming the last scene.

Vlog about NEW IDEA
Charlotte and I were in the middle of editing our footage that we shot on Monday when we came up with a new idea as to how we can show the man in house and make him look scary. We filmed a vlog so we could remember the details.

Film practice vlog 2
My group and I went to Charlotte's house again to film a practice. We brought my friend Kieren along who is playing the part of the killer in my house. We wanted to use him for 2 seconds footage but we ended up spending 3 hours filming because we had a few problems like where to put the camera. He does media studies at his school too so he was giving us a few tips and ideas. We decided to film a vlog afterwards to explain what we were doing.

Interviews
I asked my friends a few questions and filmed their answers. The questions were:
What's your favourite film and why?
What's your least favourite film and why?
Are the first two minutes of a film important to you and why?
What three things do you look for in a film?
What's your favourite movie genre and why?
What's your least favourite movie genre and why?
Their favourite movies varied from comedy releases and horror films.
Their least favourite movies
Everyone in the interview said that the first two minutes of a film is important because it must engage the audience.
Most people said that the characters and scenery/setting was what they looked for in the film.
Movie GENRES:
Favourite:
Eva: mystery
Shekinah: action
Ms Goulding: thriller
Izabela: fantasy
Lucy: romantic comedy
Sally: horror/thriller
Ms Foster: thriller
Sophia: horror
Lisa: thriller
Natalia: thriller/ action
Least favourite:
Shekinah: horror
Izabela: classical (biographies etc)
Ms Goulding: Westerns
Lucy: horror
Sally: sci-fi
Ms Foster: parodies
Sophia: romance
Lisa: romantic comedy
Natalia: sci-fi
This is useful to me because my group and I are going for the unexpected/thriller/suspense genre for our two minute film and this data showed that most people enjoy watching thriller films.

Final Film Practice Shots
We storyboarded our final film and decided to pracice filming the shots that we will used for the real film. We wanted to make sure we knew how to do it and where to place the camera before filming our final film. Here's a video we made showing the shots we will use.

Practice Video 2
Charlotte and I decided to film a second practice video in "The Green" in Enfield Town. We used a wide variety of different camera shots and angles. When we start planning our two minute film opening, we will select the techniques that we thought were most effective.
Water Practice Video
In our two minute opening film, we want a camera shot in water. So for this we decided to place the waterproof KODAK inside a glass of water and film someone walking past it to create more of an effect. We wanted to do a practice beforehand and we filmed us setting it up and trying out different techniques to get the camera shot we wanted.

Vlog about film idea
Ms Foster filmed my group's vlog as we spoke about our ideas for our two minute film opening. Originally, we were going to go for physcological thriller and we had planned out everything for that particular idea but then a few days before this vlog was filmed, we came up with a different idea.

Vlog
I decided to make a vlog on how I'm finding media studies so far and what we did in our last couple of lessons regarding the prelims and the outakes.
Prelim Outakes
My group and I decided to use clips from our prelim that were funny and not used for the actual prelim to create an outakes video. We didn't have many outakes (I'd like to believe this is because we were so professional) but we made use of the three or four that we had. We also added music and audio effects to make it funnier.
Final Prelim
Here's our prelim video. We based it on a video my group and I found on YouTube called "which one of you doesn't know how to flush the toilet". We chose this video because we thought it was funny and it included all the elements we needed to create our prelim; someone walking through the door, two people talking and someone sitting down. We had to take out a few swear words and changed the angle shots and personally I think this is better than the original.
Final Prelim Vlog
My group and I filmed a vlog talking about our final prelim and the outakes video we created afterwards. We used iMovie for the first time and found it really difficult and frustrating at first but after a while, we got the hang of it and enjoyed discovering all the different effects.

Group Vlog Prelim - Change of plans
So, my group and I decided to change our prelim from High School Musical to a video that was quite popular over the internet. We did this because we thought it would be funnier to do the video instead of the High School Musical reenactment.
Here's a screen shot of the video from YouTube. The original was taken down.

Group Vlog About Prelim
My group and I made a vlog about our prelim ideas.
Macs
I have used a mac before but I only really used it for the internet purposes at my friend's house so I'm still finding it difficult to understand how to use it. At home, I have a Windows 8 PC and I have just about learnt how to use that. I prefer basic PCs however macs look really interesting and I'm looking forward to using them all year.
Favourite actor (female)
My favourite female actor is definitely Jennifer Lawrence. She is famous for starring as the main character in The Hunger Games but I have admired her from before. She is extremely beautiful and talented and she has an awesome personality that I can see from her interviews. Whenever I watch an interview with her in it, I always end up laughing because she's a really funny person and makes every situation feel so relaxed. I admire her and really would like to be her.
My First Vlog
Here's my first vlog. I was quite nervous at first and I wasn't sure of what to say but I finally did it and here it is.

Prelim script
My group and I decided on the High School Musical scene where Gabriella meets Troy's dad, Coach Bolton. We chose this because we thought it would be funny and everyone has seen High School Musical. We searched up the script online and found the scene we thought would be pretty good. Here's a picture of the written scene that we will use for our Prelim on Friday.
Prelim brainstorming
Today during study time, my group and I (Charlotte, Nadia and me) brainstormed a few ideas for our prelim. We decided to base it around famous movie/television quotes and came up with five ideas that we liked. Here is a photo I took of our brainstorming.
These quotes are the ones that we were interested in doing, e.g. Peggy Mitchell from Eastenders' famous quote "get out of my pub!"

Screenshot of Luther episode & Storyboards
On Tuesday 17th September, the class had to watch a scene from Luther. We had to create a storyboard, drawing each different camera shot. My storyboard has 15 shots.
Here are a few pictures of my storyboards.

Favourite actor (male)
I have two favourite male actors, Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig. I love them both because of their talents (and looks). But I'm going to choose Daniel Craig today. He's a really talented actor and despite being 45 years old, he's still able to jump off buildings etc in his most famous film: James Bond. I started watching James Bond films purely because Daniel Craig stars in them and I do not regret it. James Bond is one of the best films I have ever watched. As well as his good looks, Daniel Craig is able to act in any role possible and I think that's a key feature for actors. He makes every film he stars in ten times better.
Favourite film
I have loads of favourite films so I'm finding this really hard to decide on which one. But my all time favourite film has to be Dirty Dancing. When I was younger I really enjoyed dancing and although I NEVER danced like the actors in the film, this became my favourite film. One of the things I love about this film is that there is a variety of themes within for example, romance and comedy. And it also has more serious features like class discrimination. This film taught me how people used to view those within a lower class. I also really like Patrick Swayze.
